Frequent Questions

The questions parents ask us the most.

This page is designed to answer the questions you have about Team Tutors. If your question isnt answered here, feel free to phone or email through our contact page.

Does my child always see the same tutor?

Yes, your tutor is individually chosen for your child based on academic compatibility and personality. The only time a different tutor is sent is when a substitute tutor is necessary due to a schedule change and/or if your tutor is sick.

What is your cancellation policy?

You will not be charged if you cancel at least 12 hours in advance of tutoring. We make every effort to re-schedule your canceled session.

How do I schedule tutoring?

You contact us and let us know your child's afterschool and/or weekend availability. Depending on your child's age and academic needs, we will suggest optimal days, times and number of hours of tutoring per week. Because we individualize each student's tutoring program, we will work with you to design a schedule that works best for your child.

Does Team Tutors provide materials?

Yes. Depending on the type of tutoring, we provide materials that supplement and enrich your child's tutoring experience.

Do you provide homework help?

Yes. We have a program that is designed to help your child develop study and organizational skills while providing daily homework support.

Will you talk to my child's teacher?

If you would like, we are happy to coordinate efforts with your child's teacher. Ongoing communication with parents and teachers helps us to best meet your child's academic needs.

Where do you find your tutors?

Our tutors are mainly hired through UCLA and USC. We hire through the School of Education as well as related programs on both campuses. Many of our tutors have prior tutoring experience through UCLA's BruinCorps or JEP (Joint Education Project), USC's tutoring program. Team Tutors, Inc. screens and trains its tutors to provide the highest quality tutoring experience.

How am I charged for tutoring sessions?

Team Tutors accepts credit card payment only (except under special circumstances). Your credit card information is confidential and your credit card is billed weekly for tutoring sessions that have occured. Team Tutors does not charge for sessions cancelled at least 12 hours in advance.

In most cases, your credit card statement acts as your receipt. If you would like us to provide an itemized invoice, we can email one to you monthly.
